Preparation for the specialist language test (Fachsprachprüfung)
Do you have to take a specialist language test (Fachsprachprüfung)? Then you’ve come to the right place. We prepare you for the examination at a Medical Association (Ärztekammer). The examination essentially consists of three parts: Anamnesis interview, doctor’s report, doctor-doctor interview. In addition to a very good knowledge of German, you must have communication strategies, which we will train in the course. Depending on your language skills, you should allow 2 to 4 months preparation time to pass the exam. After an assessment test, you will receive a course proposal from us.
Communication in a medical context
As a doctor, you need to speak more than just very good German. You need to know how to ask certain questions, how to build trust with the patient, how medical communication works, which techniques you can use, how much closeness and distance is appropriate.
We work interactively on your German, clarify your questions and perfect your language in terms of grammar, pronunciation and writing. We also work on questioning techniques and improve your communication strategies. Topics include anamnesis interviews, informative discussions, consultations, case presentations and medical reports.
This course is suitable for working doctors who want to perfect their German in order to be able to work confidently in a clinic, in a doctor’s surgery, as a scientist or as a pharmacist.
Optimal design of doctor's letters and reports
The doctor’s letter is not only a challenge for foreign doctors. If you are particularly interested in this topic, you have come to the right place. Based on various cases from practice, we develop different formats for doctors’ letters and reports, including discharge letters, referral letters and letters for health insurance companies. Bear in mind that doctor’s letters in everyday clinical practice differ from the format required in the specialist language test (Fachsprachprüfung). The course takes place on a part-time basis. Language uncertainties as well as stylistic questions and the structure of doctor’s letters are dealt with.

What makes your German courses suitable for medical professionals?
We simulate conversational situations from your day-to-day work as a doctor or in a pharmacy, doctor’s surgery or other healthcare facility. We train anamnesis interviews, consultation interviews, information interviews, as well as medical communication in the form of doctor’s letters and case presentations. We perfect your grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation through exemplary situations. We train vocabulary in both patient and medical jargon. We Simulate the language examination (Fachsprachprüfung). The learning method is face to face, you try to express yourself in concrete conversation situations, we correct, we collect language building blocks and improve your German together. Do I need previous knowledge of German to take part in your courses?
To participate in our courses, it is advantageous if you already have a good command of the German language. You should have a stable B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Can I choose between online and face-to-face teaching?
In principle, we prefer to offer online lessons. The seminar takes place via zoom, is interactive and very tried and tested. You need a room with as little interference as possible, a stable internet connection, a laptop or PC with an integrated camera and audio channels, ideally with a writing program.
We only offer face-to-face lessons on request from clinics or other healthcare facilities in the Berlin-Brandenburg area. If you are interested, please get in touch with us.
